‘The Thundermans’ Star Kira Kosarin Is Making Good on Her ...

Kira Kosarin is probably the only human ever to keep a resolution and own it — and now is officially our hero for doing it.

In a lengthy new Instagram post, The Thundermans actress opened up about her journey with her resolution and just how she’s owning it.

“Grateful. I won’t go into all the reasons why, but for a few months last fall I went into a really dark place,” Kira reveals.

“I was really depressed, eating terribly (including getting trapped in a cycle of fasting and binging), getting little no sleep, being extremely unproductive, and spending all of my time feeling guilty about it instead of doing something about it.”

“The only way I knew how to feel better was to distract myself with quick fixes, junk food, parties.”

But with her resolution, Kira‘s turned it all around.

“I’ve put my health first, focusing on my diet and fitness and sleep,” she shares. “I’ve found joy in music again and putting all my creativity into writing, after refusing to touch an instrument for months for fear of allowing myself to feel anything. I’m passionate about life and all it has to offer again. I finally feel right again. I finally feel like ME again.”

Grateful. I won't go into all the reasons why, but for a few months last fall I went into a really dark place. I was really depressed, eating terribly (including getting trapped in a cycle of fasting and binging), getting little no sleep, being extremely unproductive, and spending all of my time feeling guilty about it instead of doing something about it. The only way I knew how to feel better was to distract myself with quick fixes, junk food, parties. This new year for me has been about prioritizing the things that truly matter to me, the things that inspire and strengthen me long term instead of just making me feel better for the fleeting moment. It's taken some sacrifices in order to really put my time and energy into the things that are important to me, but it's changed my entire outlook on life. Ive put my health first, focusing on my diet and fitness and sleep. I've found joy in music again and putting all my creativity into writing, after refusing to touch an instrument for months for fear of allowing myself to feel anything. I'm passionate about life and all it has to offer again. I finally feel right again. I finally feel like ME again. I'm grateful for everything and everyone around me. I'm grateful for the doors that have closed in order for new ones to open. I'm grateful for the support you all have given me in sharing this journey. If you're struggling, things get better, I promise.
